My laptop says 15.6 inches. Will a 16 inch pocket swallow it?
Usually yes, and that is why one pocket often carries both numbers on the label. The diagonal describes the panel; the pocket is cut to the shell around it. A thick-lidded 15.6 inch machine can be wider than a slim 16 inch one. Measure your closed laptop across and down with a tape before you decide.
What does the expansion zip actually do?
It runs a gusset around the perimeter of the main compartment. Open it and the pack gains depth for a couple of nights of clothes. Closed, the profile stays flat against your back, which is how we cut it to sit for a normal day. Half filled with the zip open, it will slump - that is the gusset, not a fault.
How do I measure a replacement shoulder strap?
End to end, hook to hook, with the strap laid flat and pulled straight. Not shoulder to hip on your body. The padded section is fixed in place, so the adjustment range sits either side of it, and a long pad on a short strap leaves you less room to move than the total length suggests.
Is the water-resistant fabric waterproof?
No. It is a coating on the back of the weave, and it will bead a drizzle or a splash off a table for as long as the coating is intact. Seams are stitched, not taped, and zips are not sealed. In real rain, treat it as a few minutes of grace, not a barrier.
Does the anti-theft layout mean the bag cannot be opened?
It means the main zip runs are turned inward, against your back, so they are not reachable while the bag is on you. There is no lock and no cut-proof panel. Off your shoulder and out of sight, it is an ordinary bag with an awkward zip. We would rather say that than sell you a promise.
Which pieces ride a suitcase handle?
17 of the 79 pieces on the bench carry a pass-through sleeve or a luggage belt. On a pack, it is a band of fabric on the back panel that slides over the extended handle of a rolling case. On a soft duffel, the belt does the same job from the outside.
Are the colours of one bag the same bag?
Yes. A model is cut once and sewn in several shells, so a rating and a review count belong to the model, not to the colour you are looking at. That is why our lists show one colour per model rather than filling a row with four photographs of the same pack.
Why did the price change between this page and the buy page?
Because the price is not ours to hold. Our retail partner sets it, and it can move between the moment we copy it here and the moment you open the listing. The figure on the partner page is the one that counts.
