We built this daypack around a resilient one-piece front shell paired with water-resistant nylon cloth and synthetic leather. How this one is put together

Resilient front shell

We molded the front panel in one piece so the bag keeps its shape even when half full. Synthetic leather and nylon cloth deflect a sudden drizzle, and the surface wipes clean with a damp rag after a dusty commute.

Expansion gusset

Unzip the center perimeter track to let the main section widen from 3.5 inches to 6.7 inches deep. The extra volume takes a spare change of clothes without shifting weight too far off your shoulders.

Flat-opening laptop compartment

The rear section opens wide from 90 to 180 degrees at security checkpoints. Inside, thick sponge surrounds the laptop pocket to isolate a 15.6 inch machine from incidental bumps, while a hidden back pocket shields travel documents.

Ventilated harness

Before you commit

Hold a ruler across your own screen corner to corner before you decide. This one is cut for 13, 14, 15, 15.6, 16 inches, and a machine with a thick bezel can eat that margin on its own. The expansion zip buys depth, not width, so a wider chassis still will not go in.
