We built this compact daypack around a velvet-lined pocket sized for 13, 13.5, and 14 inch screens. The main body stays slim on crowded trains, then unzips to more than three times its flat depth when you pack a charger brick and an extra layer. Recycled shell fabric beads off morning drizzle.

How this one is put together
Padded computer sleeve
The inner compartment uses soft velvet lining to keep a 14 inch notebook from rubbing against cables. Closed-cell foam cushions the base and back panel so the computer does not take the impact when set down.
Perimeter expansion zip
Run the double metal zipper around the edge to expand the pack depth from 1.57 inches to 5.51 inches. The folded gusset pushes out smoothly, turning a flat computer folio into a roomier daypack.
Recycled outer shell
We weave this water-resistant shell from recycled PET plastic bottles. It sheds light rain, resists surface dirt, and wipes clean with a damp cloth after a long commute.
Pocket layout
Two front slots hold small chargers, while a wide rear compartment handles A4 notebooks. Side pockets take a compact umbrella, and an external port routes headphone audio out of the main compartment.

Before you commit
Hold a ruler across your own screen corner to corner before you decide. This one is cut for 13, 13.5, 14 inches, and a machine with a thick bezel can eat that margin on its own. The expansion zip buys depth, not width, so a wider chassis still will not go in.
