We built this compact pack around a velvet-lined pocket sized for 13 inch and 14 inch notebooks. It sits flat against your back at under two inches deep, then expands out when you pack a charger block and an extra layer. The water-resistant shell uses yarn spun from recycled plastic bottles.

How this one is put together
Variable depth gusset
A continuous perimeter zip opens the body from 1.57 inches out to 5.51 inches deep. It lets you run flat for a train commute, then open the extra volume when you need lunch and extra cables inside.
Velvet laptop sleeve
The main computer pocket measures 14.37 by 9.65 inches on the inside and uses soft velvet lining. It keeps aluminum computer lids off rough seams and cushions notebooks against daily bumps during travel.
Recycled outer shell
We weave the exterior fabric from recycled PET bottles for solid tear strength and water resistance. Light drizzle beads off the polyester face, and dust wipes clean with a damp cloth after a long commute.
Organized pocket layout
Two front zip pockets hold your mouse and small cables, while the side slots take a compact umbrella or bottle. A wide rear compartment fits A4 notebooks flat against the back panel.

Before you commit
Hold a ruler across your own screen corner to corner before you decide. This one is cut for 13, 14 inches, and a machine with a thick bezel can eat that margin on its own. The expansion zip buys depth, not width, so a wider chassis still will not go in.
