We built this replacement pad with 2.5 cm of dense memory foam to take the bite out of heavy webbing straps. The outer shell sits in plain black, while the underside uses a breathable yellow lining that wicks moisture on long walks. It measures 33 cm long to spread the load across your collarbone.

How this one is put together

Memory foam core

We cut the inner core from 2.5 cm thick memory foam layered with elastic neoprene. It absorbs the shock of a loaded camera bag or guitar case, cushioning the shoulder point without collapsing under weight.

Anti-slip contact layer

The underside grips your shirt to keep the strap from wandering off your shoulder. We chose a breathable, moisture-wicking yellow lining for the contact face, which helps air circulate and keeps sweat from soaking the core.

Hook and loop closure

Long hook-and-loop strips run down the edge so you can wrap the pad around straps up to 2.8 inches wide. The closure holds firm under tension and lets you swap the cushion between different bags quickly.

Washable fabric shell

Daily carrying leaves grit and sweat along the collar line. You can pull the pad off the strap and run it through a standard washing machine cycle when the black fabric picks up dust.

Before you commit

Check the hardware on the bag you already own before ordering. Our fittings need a D-ring or the equivalent loop, and a sewn-in webbing tab will not take a swivel hook however strong the strap is.
